Gabrielle's Story

I decided back in late November 2019 to do the Lightning Process. One of the first changes that we made was to change the name of the dramatic event to a silly word with no negative memories or associations. So from then on I didn’t talk about having had four strokes but rather that I had had four ”sausages” (my choice of word). However, for the sake of this document I will refer to them as mini-strokes

Following my 4 mini strokes I did non calm with multi-sensory input. For me, a lot of my goals were “to cope with….” , and “to remain calm when….”. The rapid change for me, almost immediately, was that I found that I was able to du calm in all situations. Nearly all the things I LP’d for ended in calm and still do. ‘Energized calm’, ‘Focused calm” and “grateful calm” are my daily favorites. So when awakening at 5.30 I would lie there in peaceful calm and regardless of whether I got back to sleep I would be able to du energized calm all day, workout on my cross trainer for between 80-95 minutes a day (over two workouts) every day and truly live my days.

A goal was not to du overwhelmed so often. This is now rarely something that I ever du. I have found that even just in doing the “STOP” I am able to stop duing the overwhelm.

On the 29th of December 2019 I went on a 10 day cruise with my husband. I had come to the LP course with a crutch that I felt completely dependent on. The incredible thing was to do that entire cruise, not once using the lift, always using the stairs, and without a crutch. It is an extraordinary thing what you can do when you challenge yourself to try and coach yourself all the way.

Two days after returning from our cruise I had another mini-stroke occur. While in hospital I somehow managed to contract swine flu and I was so relaxed that I actually found it humorous and fantastic that I was being put into isolation! I had complete calm throughout.

The mini strokes that I have done have most significantly affected my cognitive function and especially my memory. Jenny Oliver has been an absolute star, in my opinion, with this. Jenny first sent a video of her doing the LP but unfortunately I wasn’t able to quite grasp it again with that. So next, Jenny sent me an audio of her doing the LP. Now this has been an absolutely incredible thing. I use this every day and it helps me every time. For me, having this audio support has been absolutely outstanding.

Being able to cope (there’s that word again!) with early mornings was also one of my goals. I don’t just “cope” with them now, I adore them! I have found that I actually do far better waking earlier and using the LP all day.

Jenny has been nothing short of a star with her support of me, whether it be via a text, email or on Facebook messenger. Being able to have that contact has been an absolute wonder for me. Jenny has been nothing short of incredible.

Two things I said to my friend before she did the LP (for MS) were “Yes, it will cost you a family holiday but it will give you family holidays you can participate in for the rest of your long life”. She considers herself healed and was back working full time shortly after doing the LP.

I have tried to inspire a few friends to do the LP and one in particular is sure that it will be like the various types of therapy that she’s had. I have tried to tell her that it’s actually nothing like anything that she will have ever done before, but unfortunately she won’t listen.

I feel extremely sad when people just won’t consider it as in using the LP the best truly is to come!
